Tires are a basic vehicle item. They are one of the two pieces of equipment that can only be changed in town, the other being the chassis itself. Tires come in different sizes for different chassis types - 2 wheel sets for bikes, 4 wheel sets for cars and buggies, and 6 wheel sets for semi trailers. The player can only equip tire sets intended for their vehicle type. Tires have friction values for various terrain, which determine the tires' traction on that terrain type.

Another interesting thing to point out is when a new chassis is purchased it does not come with tires. It is, however, possible to equip that chassis and drive without any wheels equipped. Chassis without any tires equipped have very poor traction.

Tires offer no statistic boosts aside from the friction values.
